1966 - Master's degree in Mathematics, received at Novosibirsk State University
1969 - Candidate's degree in Physics and Mathematics, awarded by the United Academic Council of the SB RAS, for the thesis "Some problems of the theory of difference schemes for hyperbolic systems of equations"
1980 - Doctor's degree in Physics and Mathematics, awarded by the Special Academic Council of the Computing Centre of the SB RAS for the Doctorate "Analysis of properties and classification of difference schemes by differential approximation"

Professional activity:
1969-1976 - Junior and then senior researcher, Head of the Laboratory of the Computing Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of sciences, Novosibirsk
1976-1983 - Head of the Laboratory, Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ITPM) of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of sciences
1983-1990 - Director of the Krasnoyarsk Computing Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of sciences, Krasnoyarsk
