Some problems of numerical modeling of wave regimes in enclosed water areas
Some problems of construction of a numerical model of the wave regime in an enclosed area are discussed. They are illustrated by the example of the upper reservoir of the hydroelectric pumped storage power station. The calculations of the general characteristics of the flow, such as the free-surface level and velocity field are carried out by scenario calculations representing various regimes of the power station operation allowing for the variations in basic parameters of power structures, changes in reservoir geometry, including non-simultaneous putting into operation of different parts of the station and the associated construction of a temporal dike as well as its removal. The presented results can be employed also in studying hydrophysical processes due to the penetration of long oceanic tsunami waves into bays, harbors etc.
