Estimation of wind resources of the Arabian peninsula

Estimation of wind resources of the Arabian Peninsula is conducted using the objective data of the wind fields provided by the British meteorological service. The analysis of the averaged monthly wind fields near the ground agrees well with the physical and geographical features of the peninsula as well as its circulation characteristics. The recovered wind fields at the 50~m height are shown to be sufficiently strong for the purpose of energy generation by wind.
