Estimating the precision of computing Green function in a layered medium
A technique for computing of the Green function for the Laplace equation in a layered medium is proposed. The technique enables to check the accuracy of computation of the potential around a unitary point charge. Method of the solution of the problem relies on properties of the Bessel and Struve functions. An example of calculation is given. The results are valid for a broad class of problems solved using the Green functions technique.
