Variational approach for description of two pulse interaction in optical fiber line
The variational formulation of the nonlinear Schrodinger equation with the periodic coefficients which describes the motion of light pulses in optical fiber lines, is used for construction of the finite-dimensional system of ordinary differential equations for a phase difference and an amplitude differences. For two equal pulses with different positions, the finite-dimensional system can be simplified and contains 4 equations. An interaction of such two pulses are studied. Exact solution is obtained. Numerically periodic solutions of approximate system are found.
