Numerical simulation of steady fluid flows using shallow water model
This paper describes a finite-difference algorithm for simulation of planar steady ideal fluid flows with surface waves in channels of complicated form having inlet, outlet and impermeable walls. New dependent variables - stream function and vortex are used in presented numerical method. The problems of finite-difference approximations on curvilinear orthogonal grids which is adapted to an apriori defined control function are discussed. Iterative process and algorithms for description of reservoir geometry are considered also. The results of calculations of steady fluid flow with surface waves in basin of complicated geometry are given.
