Numerical modeling of thermal bar in lake Baikal
A formation and developing of convective flows near spring thermal bars in Lake Baikal is simulating by numerical methods. A non-hydrostatic two-dimensional model is used. Water density is considered as depending on temperature only. Different boundary conditions on the open edge of an
area are investigated. It is demonstrated that appearing global circulations may be responsible for penetration of surface waters into near-bottom areas in Lake Baikal.
