On the particle number selection in the particle-in-cell method for modelling in plasma physics
We investigate the accuracy of solutions in the newly designed three-dimensional parallel numerical code based on the Particle-In-Cell method. Research was conducted on the example of the evolution of a warm electron beam in plasma for three different cases. A comparative analysis for the methods of stability diagnostics was carried out. The dependence of the accuracy of the results on the number of model particles was established. The minimum required number of model particles for a correct playback of the instability increment was determined.
