The influence of the dispersion on the surface wave pattern generated by an underwater landslide in a limited reservoir is investigated. The description of surface waves is done by the full nonlinear dispersive shallow water model as well as by the new approximation models of the Boussinesq type for waves generated by landslides of small heights or slow moving landslides. The approach, which is consistent for all models, is applied to the construction of numerical algorithms. It is based on the approximation of the extended system of equations consisting of the system of hyperbolic equations and the equations of elliptic type for the non-hydrostatic pressure component. The comparison of the numerical results obtained in the framework of the dispersionless shallow water model, nonlinear dispersive models and the model of potential flows with free boundary is done.
