Mathematical modeling of evolution of coastal slope in channels with sandy bed
In the present work we formulate a mathematical model for the erosion of coastal slope of a sandy channel. To solve the problem both method and algorithm are developed . Erosion of the sandy coastal slope for a trapezoidal channel is studied numerically. Qualitative and quantitative agreement between the calculated and experimental data have been demonstrated. In the modeling of coastal erosion we have shown the importance of the avalanche mechanism for transport of bottom material.
