Effective algorithm for calculating fluid inflow to borehole via system of perforation tunnels

This paper describes a numerical algorithm for calculating fluid inflow to borehole via a system of perforation tunnels. The algorithm is approximately two orders of magnitude more effective in terms of speed then the standard software package ANSYS FLUENT with practically the same accuracy. This result is achieved by using an average flow model from the reservoir to the tunnel. The article presents the main features of the algorithm and comparison of the typical problem solutions obtained by using a three-dimensional program developed by the authors (BHIPM) and the software ANSYS FLUENT.
