Low-mode geodynamo model

A low-mode geodynamo model is constructed. The poloidal component of velocity field in the model is consistent with the data of density distribution in the liquid core of the Earth. The model includes two temperature components, one poloidal and two toroidal components of the velocity field, which model the effect due to the Coriolis force. Magnetic field is represented by the main dipole along with the six modes that structurally correspond to the velocity modes. It is shown that with the Earth’s core parameters employed in the geodynamo theory, our predictions correspond to the real main dipole component of the geomagnetic field.
