On application of compact schemes for the wave equation in piece wise homogeneous media
The presented work is a continuation of series of articles devoted to the application of compact schemes with universal high-order accuracy approximation. These schemes are applied for the boundary value problems with discontinuous coefficients, which are used for modeling of interfaces between different media. The idea of the work is in further implementation of the technology, developed earlier for the parabolic and elliptic equations, to the boundary-value problems for the wave equation in compounded domains. High-order accuracy formulae for calculation of solutions in special nodes of a grid (such as domain corners, at intersections of several materials, etc.) are offered, which close the proposed highly accurate algorithm.
