ICT for environmental sciences: synthesis of science and education
A brief overview of the scope and outcomes of the Young Scientists School and Conference on Computational Information Technologies for Environmental Sciences CITES-2007 (http://www.scert.ru/en/conferences/cites07/) held in Tomsk in July 14-25, 2007 is presented. Examples on how information-computational technologies are used to train environmental science specialists are discussed. Educational potential of such an approach is underlined and new directions of its further development are indicated.
